The interesting thing is that the white people who do this span the entire spectrum of “whiteness.” Liberals, conservatives, urban, rural, you name it. White people, many of whom are very close to me, for some reason, love to call me “white.” It mostly comes down to how I talk, the music I listen to, the clothes that I wear, and the things that I am into. Are you seeing a pattern here? Simply put, it seems, there are things that black people are supposed to do, and playing lacrosse in high school and college, skiing, camping, fishing, and having a decent job aren’t those things.
