The man in the Trench Coat

My granddad told me about a strange occurrence that had happened to him years ago when he was on his way home from work one cold winter’s night. He was riding his bike along a dimly lit stretch of road heading home, when from out of the blue a man dressed in a dirty looking beige coloured trench coat with a matching hat stepped out into the road right in front of him.

He was really shocked by this as the man had just appeared from out of nowhere. He could clearly see the man’s face and was utterly shocked to see that the man had no eyes! He desperately tried to apply the brakes, but he just couldn’t stop the bike in time. He impacted the man, which caused his bike to shake violently and zigzag along the road before he managed to regain control of it and stop further on down the road.

He then turned his bike around and headed back up the road to try and help the man and take him to the hospital if needed. He was expecting to see an injured man lying at the side of the road, but instead he was shocked to see that there was no sign of the man anywhere, which really gave him chills throughout his body.

He looked around the area for a while longer and realized, that there was nowhere the man could have gone, so freaked out by this he did not hang around the area, he quickly got back on his bike and made his way home. When he finally arrived home he parked up and then went straight inside the house, where his wife Mary was waiting for him with a nice hot cup of tea.
