Trump is more Euro than you think

NH played out in line with polls and the US seems to be in a state of shock that Trump won and that Hillary lost, by that much. Here in London the common consensus is, “America, what in the world are you thinking!?”, and more to the point “Trump would never happen in Europe”…..we are simply too refined for that oaf.

Consider these quotes:

“I don’t need to go into office for the power. I have houses all over the world, stupendous boats… beautiful airplanes, a beautiful wife, a beautiful family… I am making a sacrifice.”

“Women are lining up to marry me. Legend has it, I know how to do it.”

“There is no-one on the world stage who can compete with me.”

“Ah Ha!,” I hear my fellow euro’s say. “Finally, the proof we needed of our intellectual and cultured superiority!”.

But Trump was not responsible for those remarks. They belong to our very own Silvio Berlusconi…
