True to what they say, a journey of a thousand miles starts with one step, although it never ends if you stop making consistent steps forward. It may not be easy to keep moving and if your persistence wears off you might as well not have set your eyes on a goal. Andela has been a journey for me, one that leads to being a world-class software engineer.

Every new day at the boot-camp bring with it new challenges, lessons and demands. It is tough more so if you are behind on some tasks. Each challenge needs one to dig deep within and without themselves to find and implement solutions to them. Each challenge solved is a sure step towards the goals of the boot-camp.

The biggest challenge has been learning and implementing knowledge acquired on the go. For instance, when learning about TDD (Test Driven Development) it was a new topic and yet a dozen tests needed to be written at the same time. Some will work immediately while others will consume you alive before they can fulfill their purpose.

It has been a great learning experience to say the least. Starting from basics then proceeding to more complex functionalities. Team work, feedback and checkpoint have been of great help. With every challenge solved, team member assisted, line of code written and feedback reflected on and applied; it is clear that the journey will be long, resource intensive, rewarding and awesome. Finally, the journey will have good support and guidance.
