I saw you recently on Between Two Ferns. It was mildly amusing.

Humor aside, the thing that stuck in my mind was your reaction to Zach calling you a nerd.

You responded defensively saying you were not a nerd. You provided proof in that Michelle would never marry a nerd.

What’s wrong with being a nerd Obama?

You are the President of the most important country in the world. Are you sure that’s the message you want to send to kids? A message that implies girls won’t like you or that it isn’t cool to be a nerd?

Frankly, it’s a bit disappointing Obama. I expected more from you. After all you do support STEM significantly. Thank you for that.

Regardless, your message should encourage people to be nerds.

Nerds are responsible for arguably everything in our society. Every technology, medicine, scientific discovery, unique design, these were all produced by nerds.

In our society, it’s undesirable to be a nerd. It’s just not cool.

But let’s change that.

Imagine the rate of progress in society with double the STEM graduates. How many cooler gadgets would we have? How many more cures?

Nerds are the coolest people in the world. People who truly don’t care what society thinks about them and spends their time figuring out ways to advance society. Amazing people.

Let’s work on our message Obama. You’re a great leader and the youth listen to you. Send a message that nerds are cool. We will get a better society out of it, I guarantee that.
