Yes Jason Ericsson, a rush to nuclear when the higher cost of renewables becomes (even more) apparent is a very real probability and concern. Only conceivable path for nuclear — putting aside the major environmental etc risks involved — is via massive build up of, as yet unforeseen breeder reactors. Uranium is too scarce to make current generation of nuclear fission plants viable on a large scale for long…and as you say they are on the decline globally. The BEST way out is to adopt ways that all us to massively reduce energy demand …i.e to take the Simpler Way
