Great intro/summary to this topical issue! Agree we should “practice “staying with the trouble.” to some extent. I’d be interested (in a future post?!) in a good ethicist’s rendering (and his POV) on two related topics: What are the current/most useful ways to assess the trend of making apps/sw addictive; and what are current/useful ways to appreciate how our Senate Judiciary Committee hearings have probed how CA improperly accessed names/info about millions of users on the FB platform. For example, are those hearings premature, are they designed to get maximum understanding and benefit from the resources put into them, are there better ways to get at the issues? How, specifically, would ethicists ‘stay with the trouble’ while also taking action?
