Thanks for sharing Mark. Our (anyone’s) main need is to be born again, but so many Catholics (I suppose some Protestants too) think their baptism (unbiblical sprinkling) took care of that. Protestants believe (or should) that the church should be always reforming; it’s sad when some seem to think that merely means being indignant about Catholic errors (your regretible experience); I wished you had remained to help that reform effort. From my experience, so much in Catholicism is at best baggage hiding real Christianity. Re. John 6, if the mention of body and blood were literally fulfilled in the communion/eucharist, it would have to mean that all one has to do to have eternal life is to take communion one single time — hopefully you don’t believe that, which means you agree there must be something more involved than eating/drinking, i.e. you take a figurative interpretation to some extent.
