Good stuff, but I’d add to this the fact that you don’t need to do it all yourself. An MBA doesn’t have to go waste weeks or months learning to code, and then hack together a half-ass product in 12x the time. And an engineer doesn’t need to spend weeks or months learning how to build and run a business or create a financial plan. The best founders indeed have solid skills, as you note, and yes… they go (way) out of their way to better themselves in all respects, but they also know how to find great people to help them out. To complement their skills. To play debate and triangulate. The best “founders” are incredibly passionate, motivated and relentless. And this is a set of skills many can’t just learn.
