Such a great point Evonne. I think it will have to be all of us doing that construction and training. Like democracy and capitalism, this kind of tech development seems too important a task to leave to experts or just the big commercial companies. As I say in next week’s post, I am hopeful that open source and highly distributed training will be key players. Fortunately, deep learning (what we can call natural intelligence, as opposed to “artificial” intelligence) seems to benefit uniquely from open and bottom-up approaches.
