Let’s Stop Pretending Christianity is Actually Relevant, Okay?
Benjamin Sledge

I finally walked away from my church once and for all this year. Such a release and relief. I feel free and more spirutually centered. I was the last hold out in my family but I am so glad it is over.

The fact for me is the progressive church is less nasty and shallow brained than the evangelicals — but more silly in some ways. I got fed up with the “Jesus as perpetual Peace Corp worker” cluck clucking— The groups who make up the American Christian church are awful, nasty control freaks (The Right) , Smug , emotionally stunted adolecents stuck a kind of perpetual sociology graduate program..(The Left) and those with chronic, low grade depression (look around the rooms…)No individuated adult needs that church baggage to be nice and/or productive.

I am pretty sure Jesus himself would walk away from these churches.

I know when I left and I felt closer to God almost immediately.
