Why You’re Wrong About Cam Newton (And His Presser)

You criticize Manning for calling out his offensive line but somehow missed that Cam did the same thing in the very short time he answered questions, as well as his receivers.

You claim that people expect him to be happy and smiling in his press conference. This is a straw man. Nobody expected him to be happy at all. They expected him to be a professional, which he wasn’t. Look at how Manning handled the press after his team was demolished by the Seahawks two years ago. He wasn’t happy and smiling but he stood in there, like a professional, and answered the tough questions.

You say that if you aren’t a Panthers fan then “…Cam will never make you happy…”. This is tantamount to an admission that fans cannot be objective about Newton. Perhaps its the Panther fans that need to look themselves in the mirror and examine their excuse-making for the man-child that “leads” their team.

I personally don’t care if Cam talks to the press or not. Only the press really cares. It’s just another testament to the lack of character of Newton. That is all. It’s a check on the veracity of claims that he’s now mature. He’s not.
