I don’t know if England have a good enough team…there I said it.
I look at the new squad, there are two players that excite me and I doubt either of them will get enough game time. Elliot Daly and Matt Kvesic are the best players in their club teams by a mile but haven’t had a look in with England since they played with the age groups — absolutely crazy. Even if they started both those guys, I don’t think England have the squad to win the six nations let alone the grand slam. Look at the current starting team…would any of them get into a world XV? And don’t get my started on the exclusion of Tom Youngs from the squad — he’s got the edge that actually makes a difference in games, not this apparnetly ‘edge’ that Hartley has. My prediction is we’ll beat Scotland, Italy and Wales but be beaten well by France and Ireland.
Really hoping I’m proved wrong but for the first time ever I’m going into this major championship thinking with my head rather than my heart!
Today’s link is an amazing episode of “Being Frank” on the Vice Munchies channel. These guys are passionate, cool, genuine, hardworking AND they own one of my favourite restaurants in NYC.
