Replenishing a Tezos wallet: 4 options

After downloading and installing the Temple wallet and creating a new address on the Tezos network, you may wonder “How can I add funds to my wallet to start investing?” There are several answers to this question, so let’s start with the simplest one.

Transferring crypto from another wallet

The second option is straightforward. To do this, you will need a friend, sister, mother, father, neighbor, or anyone who already has assets in the Tezos network. If you have found such a sponsor, you need to agree with them on transferring the assets to your newly created wallet. However, since communication with people is not our forte, let’s get closer to the point by looking at the details.

Transferring crypto from an exchange

We recommend using Binance because, in addition to TEZ, the main coin of the ecosystem, you can also withdraw USDT to the Tezos blockchain from this exchange.

It is easy enough for anyone who has worked with Binance at least once. Just go to the “Wallet” section on Binance and start the process of withdrawing USDT. In the “Network” field, be sure to specify Tezos. Select the number of tokens and enter the address of your Temple wallet, which you can find right above the TEZ balance in the Temple wallet interface. To copy it to the clipboard, just click on it with your mouse, finger, or whatever you use to work with crypto.

Paste the address in the “Address” field on Binance and complete the USDT withdrawal.

NOTE: To work in any network, including Tezos, you will need the native coin of the blockchain, in our case, it is TEZ (or XTZ), to pay fees for any transactions or calls and change the state of contracts (in other words, to work with protocols).

Withdrawing Tezos (TEZ or XTZ) from Binance works in a similar way. If you are a great opponent and do not like Binance, here is a list of other exchanges that support the Tezos network: Bybit, Whitebit (UA only), Huobi, OKX.

Replenishing the wallet within the app using crypto

Temple contains functionality that allows you to exchange your crypto from over 25 options for TEZ tokens. To do this, open the wallet and click the Buy button. In the opened window, go to the Crypto tab and click Continue in the Exolix window. Choose the crypto you have and want to exchange for Tezos, enter the amount, move forward, and get the wallet address in the corresponding network where you need to transfer the desired amount of the specified asset. After the transfer and confirmation of the transaction, your asset will be converted to TEZ and credited to your wallet address.

Replenishing the wallet within the app using fiat

Open the wallet and click the Buy button. In the opened window, select the Fiat tab and choose the payment method that suits you best. Enter the amount you want to add to your wallet, and follow the instructions to complete the transaction. After the successful transaction, the funds will be added to your wallet.
