Today, we’re going to cover the basics for all newcomers to Tezos DeFi. And what does any newbie want to know? That’s right, which wallet to install and use so that in two months it won’t be hacked and the hard-earned $3 won’t be withdrawn. Let’s get started

Personally, we use Temple Wallet for all transactions on Tezos. Here’s a brief description of the wallet:

- open-source, which means it is probably safe;
- audited, which means it is probably safe;
- free, which means it suits us;
- there is an expansion version;
- there are mobile versions;
- there is a token exchange function within the program;
- there is a function of buying crypto for fiat, including hryvnia.

We could go on, but the above is enough for our needs.

Where can I get this wallet?

Go to the official website:

https://templewallet.com/

Here, at the top, you will see the buttons for installing the wallet.

If you are a PC-nobleman or at least a laptop-lord, we recommend downloading the extension version for fast and convenient work in the browser. For smartphones-zoomers, there are also mobile versions available at this link https://templewallet.com/download?platform=mobile.

After you have installed and launched the wallet, the address creation menu will open.

To get started, follow these steps:

  1. Create a new wallet.
  2. Save the Seed phrase right away.
  3. Hide the Seed phrase and don’t show it to anyone under any circumstances.
  4. Remember that the Seed phrase is the key to all your assets on the wallet.
  5. For added security, use a password manager with data encryption and make sure to encrypt anything you store.

Once you’ve taken these steps, come up with a password and complete the wallet creation process.

Using the Temple wallet will make it much easier to interact with Tezos protocols and crypto on this blockchain.
