Living the Vancouver Life

Vancouver is slowly becoming the new New York City, with respect to both increasing housing prices as well as cultivating a happening lifestyle. Presently, despite the housing prices falling almost globally, Vancouver’s real estate prices continue to increase.

The housing sales have started to see a slight dip, but the prices continue to rise. Over the past year, Vancouver has seen an almost 18% rise in prices. Vancouver is becoming the new ‘it’ city to live in. It boasts beaches and mountains, malls and shopping arenas, private and public education systems, a thriving nightlife, and much more.

Vancouver has a lot more to offer than the usual clubs, pubs, and bars to its night owls. Whether you take your best friend or your family, it has something for all. Here are five things you can do when out in Vancouver at night:

Ghostly Vancouver Tours

Do you think you can brave this city’s ghosts? Take a 90-minute walk to some notorious neighbourhoods of Vancouver. The tour provides first-hand accounts of haunted events in these neighbourhoods as well as talks about the folklore surrounding the area. The tour starts at sharp 7.30 p.m. Don’t be late, or they’ll start without you!

Guilt & Co.

Want to take it easy on your night out? Looking for some bonding time with your family? How about a game of giant Jenga at Guilt & Co.? The establishment is open until 2 a.m and also offers fantastic bites to eat as you relax and unwind. Besides the mouth watering foods and sophisticated cocktails, this place also has a calendar full of live band events!

Movieland Arcade

Kick it up with some old school arcade games. Movieland Arcade is open to all until 1 a.m and offers a variety of arcade games that are sure to bring back a hoard of childhood memories. It has a complete collection of old arcade games like Galaga and Pac Man. Take an evening off and try to beat the pinball high score!

The Dark Table

A hit concept in major cities like London, Paris, and New York, dinner at the Dark Table involves eating in the dark, served by trained blind or visually impaired servers. You will be asked to choose your order before being taken to a table where there is no light. This will heighten other senses, so you can truly enjoy your food and company. Oh by the way, there’s an awesome chocolate shop that’s nearby! highly recommend that you try it out.

Kitty Nights Burlesque

Though not suitable for a family outing, Vancouver offers world class burlesque shows on several nights at various locations. Grab your best friends and enjoy a night of drama, music, and dance. Sit back and watch dazzling burlesque tributes to all your favourite bands!

Conclusion

Though Vancouver is fast becoming a dream city due to its constantly rising prices, it remains a wonderful place to live in. You might need to stretch your pockets a little, but the city is worth the discomfort. It thrives all day and all night and has something for everyone.
