I also want to thank you for this article, and congratulate you on a job well done. The CMS question is a sticky one, so thanks for your insight and thought-process on that. The Hammer Museum’s website is actually built with the modules-not-templates model that you created with Craft. So this does exist in a sizable cultural organization! (There must be others, no?) Our CMS is Typo3. It is not perfect. The UI for editors is awkward at best, and the adoption and support in the U.S. is practically non-existent. But it does offer some great flexibility in an open-source package.
