Which is why, I believe, that 80% of the web offers a poor user experience, with even worse UI.

You are certainly right that frameworks are useful, but as a designer (with a BS in CS), I refuse to limit my designs to the baseline capabilities of the available frameworks.

I do think there’s merit in designers learning how to translate their designs into front end UI code (HTML/CSS), but I will never spin my wheels learning React.js or Angular. I’d rather be a great designer and a capable front end dev, instead of mediocre at both.
