8 More Years!

It’s probably no surprise, but I’m with Hillary. I bet she’ll be our party’s nominee, go on to win the general election, and be a great president — no matter who survives the GOP’s circular firing squad.

At the same time, I’ve got to admit that a lot of heart for Bernie — yes, I feel the Bern!

The great thing for us Democrats is that, regardless of who you support, we can all be proud of the serious, substantive, constructive debate we’re having on this side of the aisle. I don’t mean to get all kumbaya here, but at the same time as I’ve read plenty of strong, persuasive endorsements of Hillary (who clearly has the lion’s share of editorial support), I’ve also read some great endorsements of Bernie from Robert Reich, Katrina vanden Heuvel, and other smart, progressive thought leaders who agree on so much, but stand apart in their candidate of choice.

Reasonable lefty minds with principled disagreement. I’m good with that.

And why not? After 8 great years of accomplishment in the face of unprecedented headwinds by a transformational president, it’s time we elect the next Democrat to build on President Obama’s amazing record.

Here’s to 8 more years!
