Do you think guided meditation can be interactive?

I have found many of the meditation apps’ content repetitive even when they have different categories for their content.

For example Headspace has many packages but most of the sessions (at least the first session of each package) have the same format of starting by breathing, paying attention to the sounds, feeling the weight of your body, counting the breath, etc. Which I understand it’s how meditation works.

My question is: can we deliver the same meditation techniques in form of a dialog?
Let’s say that I want to meditate lying down this time instead of being sat, then I hear the same meditation audio clip saying “feel the back of the chair” which doesn’t apply in this context.

What if it wasn’t a recording but a conversation? This is what I have in mind

Meditation App: … remember, eyes open with a soft focus, aware of the space around you. Take deep breaths. Are you sitting down or lying down?
You: I am standing up in my commute.
Meditation App: Ok. Focus on the weight of your body, on the soles of your feet. Listen to the sounds around you, the voice of other people in your commute. The sound of the bus or train.

It doesn’t have to be a lengthy conversation due to the same nature of meditation, but I think there could be good uses for an interactive meditation where you can give some context of your surroundings and the meditation is guided in a dynamic way instead of playing the same recording over and over again.

Please let me know what are your thoughts about this. Do you find it useful or it would rather be distracting to talk while meditating?

On a side note, I’ve been working on autenti.ca, a mood booster that will make you feel happier by making you smile for at least 4 seconds. Sharing your thoughts about this project would be very valuable as well! Thank you for taking the time to read the article.
