Mountain Hare

I recently had the pleasure of going on a workshop day with Ben Hall. We headed up on to Bleaklow near Glossop to photograph mountain hare. I found Ben’s website and saw he had some amazing images. I thought it was time for me to get some expert advice.

Considering how elusive I’d heard the hare were we were lucky to have a day with lots of sightings. The morning was tough with them being a long distance away. It’s also quite hard to spot a white and grey animal agains a white and grey background.

Ben gave me some sound advice on settings and how to compose the shots, which I think has been my weakness in the past.

It wasn’t just mountain hare that we spotted. We also managed to get some shots of grouse.
