After graduating from Colby College in Maine, Jonathan Sdao moved to New York to pursue a career in finance but returns often to spend time fly fishing. Maine is known as the Pine Tree State for its natural beauty. With its heavy forests, rocky coastlines, and rolling mountains, visitors can enjoy a variety activities from hiking to skiing to various water sports. Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens

One of the best botanical gardens in the United States, and one of the most beautiful places in Maine, the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is a great place to visit with friends and family. With year-round events, there is always something fun to do and see at the botanical garden.

Gulf Hagas

Gulf Hagas in the Rockwood Area of Maine is known as the Grand Canyon of the East. The West Branch of the Pleasant River cuts through three miles of earth, creating a vertically walled slate gorge that boasts numerous waterfall.

Table Rock

A granite ledge located in the Newry Area of Maine allows visitors to view the beautiful landscape of the Grafton Notch State Park. It is a challenging climb, but well worth the effort to see for miles around.

Cadillac Mountain

Located in the Acadia National Park, Cadillac Mountain boasts some of the most beautiful sunsets in Maine. At 1,530 feet, it’s the highest point along the North Atlantic seaboard. It is one of twenty mountains located on Mount Desert Island.

The Golden Road Scenic Byway

Built by the Great Northern Paper Company, the 96-mile Golden Road stretches from the company’s former mill in Millinocket to St. Zacharie Quebec border. A lot of the road is unpaved, so make sure your car is in good shape before heading out.
