In broad strokes, Dem leadership should: recognize that the political class in this country is unpopular / facing a crisis of legitimacy, and adjust accordingly; fight visibly and consistently for working people; name culprits (e.g., Wall Street, a rigged political system that only serves the 1%, etc.); stop thinking that they have to choose between economic populism and racial justice, social justice, etc. (it’s 2017 — we can and must do both); invest in a ground game that centers on inspiring voters (including the majority of the nation that sits out most elections) instead of just a math game to turn out reliable voters.
