In Q1 2017, the Economy Grew at Its Slowest Pace in Three Years
Nicole Dieker

This is an easy (but very complex in its entirety) answer. People browse retail but don’t shop there…they shop online cause it’s cheaper. Economy is slow growing, but people have less to spend because huge businesses like Amazon and the likes are getting the business…and paying bad wages. The “box stores” help wall street but not the average human being.

The fix? Stop corporate welfare which is how this spiral keeps going on (again A LOT more complex than that, but what I feel is a huge reason why).
