What is corruption?

noun — dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery.

In other words, corruption is an act that is not behave like it should be. If in your team they select you to be a treasurer that keeps all the money and you ended up using those money, then you are doing corruption.

It is not only happened to small-size team, but even united nation does. For example, it happened in Venezuela when their president caught doing corruption. At the same time, it brings their country to dark ages of democracy.

There are some attempts which trying to studied whether democracy can reduces corruption or not. According to Ivar Kolstad and Arne Wiig from CMI, there are some indices that could reduce the corruption but it is not the exact indices. While Ina Kubbe and Annika Engelbert said that it is based on country-specific and cultural context and characteristics of societies. In other words, there are still no proof democracy can always reduce the corruption.
