The Journey: Long Time

Late post, and I’m underdressed — but it was the first day it felt like fall. Long time in the making but caught up with my friend Julian Boxenbaum who is Principal at the Eight Inc. incubator. He also helped build an amazing community called Lucid 🔮

Love chatting with ppl who can discuss a variety of topics ranging from design thinking, entrepreneurship, millennial matters, and the state of the country. (Particularly how we are creating our own reality, or how others are creating it for us.) And closet to my heart, that connecting (in the business context) is better left as a secondary skill.

Julian had an interesting analogy about Picasso, how to understand his work you have to understand the transformation (and the progression of his work) the artist went thru before creating the surreal masterpieces he is known for. He was comparing that to when children use a smartphone before getting an understanding of what “real” reality (or not reality via a screen) is). You need the basics, I’m butchering this a bit makes sense. That’s why I’m getting nervous at the thought of Gen Z/centennials entering the workforce…

The energy in the city has picked up, and we’re still in that transition period before fall. Signing off for the weekend, Shabbat Shalom ✌️
