The Journey: Montreal

#latergram Post from this past weekend in Montreal. It’s been a few years since I visited this city, and for some reason I didn’t know that the city had such a significant Jewish history, and that Canadians from British and French descent lived here (fairly peacefully?) for many years. But Canadians are nice so no surprise there. If parts of New York are old like the West Village, Montreal is over 350 years old!
I haven’t really traveled that much recently and I was reading somewhere (or heard on a podcast) that traveling to new locations (or even just a different location) reorients our ways of looking at the world. Not in the obvious way traveling opens our minds and exposes us to new perspectives and ways of thinking (but I’m going to butcher the science, broscience? around this) something happens with our brain chemistry. That traveling can help with ideation, and gets us out of our routine. Getting out of our routine is prob the key here. I personally like to be challenged and if I am proven wrong, great, I learned something new.
