Welcome to YKC. Shorter digest the next few weeks as I know people are traveling during the summer months.
Please follow me on Instagram @yonzes; working to develop my Insta content by featuring stories of people I’m meeting as well as exploring difficult emotions (we all deal with daily) in a constructive and productive way. Doubling down on content creation so check out my latest article on Medium; On Connecting Part I.
Feedback very much welcome, I am a big believer in learning by doing (even if I make a fool of myself some of the time); no better feedback than to learn from experience. I’m approaching building my IG the same way I did my newsletter; thru consistency and raw authenticity (putting out in the world what goes on in my inner world). Knowing that good enough is the new perfect.

The Third Door: The Wild Quest to Uncover How the World’s Most Successful People Launched Their Careers by Alex Banayan: You have to admire this kid’s tenacity, they say youth is wasted on the young, but this book definitely has some wisdom and meaningful insights. As transparency will become a bigger part of our reality and social fabric (blockchain for relationships?) it’s refreshing to see how these uber successful people reached the apex of human aspiration (be it money, fame, impact, etc.). We all see the mountain top, and want to know, how do I take that first step?
⚪️ Chutzpah is probably more important these days than ever: The data shows millennials have less empathy (i.e. people skills) than previous generations so old fashioned chutzpah is becoming the hack to 10X your way to your goal.
⚪ There is always a way: Opportunity is there, you just might need to make a fool of yourself in order to reach it. And that’s why you’ll win, but 99% of people are not willing to do that. It’s as simple as knowing it’s your ego getting in the way, but it’s the hardest thing to control.
⚪ (It’s probably evolutionary) but society loves to tell the story of the overnight success: 10,000 hours, deliberate practice, the tip of the iceberg, whatever. Why we love movies and want to feature only the highlight reel. I don’t believe there has been a historical precedent for this but my gut is telling me thanks to the tools we have (self-analysis, mindfulness, cultivation of self-awareness) your personal Journey will be the most important way to connect with an audience in an authentic way.
