emsCharts’s misleading email last week…and press release this week

_________________________________________________________________

Dear EMS Industry Colleagues,

Last week, either emsCharts itself or one of its distribution partners sent out an email with the subject line, “emsCharts is now NEMSIS 3.4 Compliant.”

It even goes on to read as follows: “For clarity: ‘emsCharts is officially connected and approved to submit live NEMSIS v3.4 data to Pennsylvania.’” (Link to release) This week, emsCharts put out a similar statement with respect to Illinois, stating that the company is cleared to submit “live NEMSIS v3.4 data in Illinois.”

These announcements distort the facts.

Here are the facts for public review:

  • emsCharts is not NEMSIS v3.4 compliant at the national level (as of 9/26/17)
  • Don’t take our word for it…check for yourself! NEMSIS compliance list

The graphic below is from September 26, 2017. Click it to review the current compliance list. emsCharts has not achieved NEMSIS v3.4 certification. emsCharts earned NEMSIS v3.3.4 certification on August 21, 2015, but that’s not supposed to be good enough for Pennsylvania. Why would emsCharts claim to have achieved v3.4 compliance when it didn’t? emsCharts is still testing NEMSIS v3.4 at the national level, as of September 26, 2017.

Maybe emsCharts thinks Pennsylvania and Illinois agencies won’t check the official compliant vendors list, or wonder how an ePCR system can become state compliant without being nationally compliant? (FYI: Most states require national compliance first.)
