My Experience In Bootcamp So Far — Day 2

Yesterday I wrote a blog post on “My Most Recent Challenging Experience”
It’s true what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
I feel I just unlocked a new item in my war chest — If you play video games I’m sure you can relate.

You may wonder what Andela Bootcamp is all about. The Andela Bootcamp is the final stage before acceptance into the Andela Fellowship made to identify potential software developers who share and possess the values of the organization. The two weeks program is aimed at empowering applicants to learn to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team.

The first week starts off with a 1-day self learning clinic, followed by 3-days homestudy learning (with series of tasks to complete) and then a 1-day onsite project.

Today the 16th day of May, 2017, day two of week-1. My Boot camp Facilitator Assistant (BFA) pointed out in my Feedback Score Card:

“Collaborate with the other boot campers via DM or the other slack channels made available to you. Many of the challenges you have are challenges other boot campers might have had before.” At that moment the words of best selling author Jeff Goins dawned on me — “Collaboration will yield far greater results than competition.”

I reached out to other boot campers via slack. I could perceive their passion and willingness to learn. It felt good to know that I’m not alone in this journey to become a world class developer. We exchanged ideas, I picked up few tricks in Version Control System — GIT specifically and other awesome programming logic.

I started by saying “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”. I feel powerful already with the skills and knowledge added to my arsenal. Thanks to Andela for this wonderful opportunity.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
