You know, I hear a lot of people say “It takes a village to raise a child.” I was really resistant to that idea at first, but I absolutely see the value in it now.

I agree with you to a point. I see value in confrontation if there is something to be gained.
However, an argument that is just rehashing old wounds or emotionally vindictive, I would agree, serves no purpose. Good for you for knowing that those should be exited.
I totally relate. The ability to receive applause from people immediately or be told you are a “great mom” is intoxicating. It is an entirely different thing to parent with integrity offline.
