I view my career in three chapters. My first involved serving in political and government roles in Washington, D.C., primarily focused on economic and small business development. I began to realize how I could have a more significant impact through business, so my second chapter began when I returned to school to complete an MBA at the University of Texas at Austin. After graduation, I led marketing and business development teams for various startups and larger technology-centered companies.
My third chapter included completing my EdD at Creighton University, focusing on the role of moral courage when for-profit social enterprises resolve economic and social tensions. I also started a social entrepreneur program and community in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Included in this chapter has been teaching leadership courses at the University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management.
As I advance my third life chapter, my goal is to teach and research at a university and continue to write on leadership topics at the intersection of virtues and positive impact.
