It cannot be a myth that government spends tax revenue. By your own words money is a claim, a vote if you will, on how available resources should be utilised.
If government spends thanks to inflation: that skews the purchasing power of the existing money supply.
If government spends thanks to taxation they are quite obviously removing purchasing power directly.
Inflation is harder to notice and ever the most insidious of the two means of appropriating wealth.
As always it is not about the money. It is about what resources actually exist and who gets to claim them.
