Time Reverses Gratitude

It’s curious how in the past, we tend to be grateful for the things that challenge—even those that cause us pain—almost as if a kind of ‘post-traumatic growth’ increases our capacity to feel happiness.

However, as any human being will tell you, it is against our nature to feel grateful for something that is currently causing us pain. Perhaps, our great challenge is then to imagine our future-selves being grateful for this momentary shitty experience, to view our existing limitations as opportunities for improvement and overwhelming uncertainty as limitless opportunity for growth.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?
