It takes courage to be a friend…

It takes courage to be a friend, to really be there for another person, to truly empathise and love unselfishly. It is often too easy to hide away when things get heavy… We are often unprepared when serious emotional problems arise and it is all to easy to shut down or become more distant. There’s also the fact that we are not always emotionally aware and mature. We are not trained to react in an emotionally intelligent way. Not manly enough for some, not our business for others. Why do we panic a little bit inside when others need us emotionally? Why should we always shake it off or man up? Why does vulnerability make us feel so uncomfortable?
