Santorin Catches Fire

We are pleased to announce that Lucas “Santorin” Larsen has joined us in our final push towards the LCS. We signed Juan “Contractz” Garcia last December under the assumption that the first place Challenger Series team would auto-promote into the LCS. Riot’s announcement of the 2016 NA Challenger Series changes altered our plans. As a result, we had to find a new jungler to play in the promotion tournament as Contractz is ineligible due to his age. Rest assured, Contractz remains a vital part of our organization as one of the emerging stars in North America.

We hired Santorin because he is a world-class jungler that synergizes very well with our team. We offered Santorin $105,000 in total compensation ($80k base, $25k in bonuses). We are honored to have him onboard despite him receiving higher offers from LCS teams.

Make no mistake — we are still dedicated to developing local talent. We held numerous tryouts for many of the top free agents in North America, but none of them fit our team as well as Santorin.

Ember’s first playoff game will be against TDK on March 8th. #MBRWIN
