I am in a conceptual bind about this issue myself. I would like to think that the anger that streams from moral outrage would never be coopted by the impulse to use power to dominate, but I have to agree with you in the sense that one look at history proves otherwise. The most prominent example to me is the Israeli Palestinian conflict. Again I defer to Chris Hedges’ works on this matter, but even he may not give this issue the attention it deserves. I don’t know, I’m still learning. But we’d better learn fast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeE5WnTUsF8
