Israel vs Palestine
Who are the victims?
With the current conflict in Israel, I have been doing a lot of reading, trying to get a gauge of what must be going on over there. The information is daunting, with both sides claiming to be victim. What I found most compelling in all of this, is the state of Israel and their leader’s ties to Zionism and its ideologies. This has taken me on a rather interesting journey into both worlds — which led me to share this piece today.
Please read though the following excerpt and I will explain its origins at the bottom of the piece.
White Supremacy is the national movement of Aryans and Aryan culture that supports the creation of a white homeland. [1]A religious variety of Aryanism, supports purity of race and strictly prohibits mixing and opposes the assimilation of whites into other societies promoting them to be a majority in their own nation. Aryanism emerged in the late 19th century in central and eastern Europe as a national revival movement, and soon after this most leaders of the movement associated the main goal with creating the master race. Since the establishment of the white supremists, the Aryan movement continues primarily to advocate on behalf of the white people and address threats to its continued existence and security.
I don’t know about you, but the idea that a group of people could promote an ideology like this makes me mad. It’s unfathomable that we could hate another person based on their race or, religious orientation.
This however isn’t an accurate reflection of white supremacy. What this is? I have taken a piece directly out of the Zionist handbook and replaced Jewish with Aryan. The reason? It should be clear.
Racism is not a white disease. It’s time to speak out against hypocrisy and hate. Nobody is entitled, no matter what your reasoning. And if you’re going to tell me that “god” anointed you the chosen race, then it only goes to prove how absurd this has all become. People are dying for an entity that as far as we are aware; nobody has seen. We are expected to take this on faith and believe because it is written in various documents over many thousands of years that it must be true.
The one truth we know out of the Israeli/Palestine conflict is that the Israeli’s believe that the Arab’s are encroaching on their holy land and, by religious decree, have legitimate reason for removing them, at whatever cost.
While I understand that Hamas is a fanatical terrorist organization that kills innocent Israeli people, failing to use good judgement in targeting their real enemies, I also understand that extreme conditions sometimes require extreme measures.
The best example I could think of is our indigenous people, here in Canada. If they banded together and started coming after us, we would see them as terrorists but, we also need to recognize that this was their land and we came in and took it from them. Sure, we’re talking a few hundred years ago but how long has the Middle East been feuding over land?
Based on the Israeli argument: they (Aboriginals)would be well within their right to attempt to get rid of us (all non-indigenous) peoples. Yet, ironically, they would be branded much as the majority of Arab people are.
There’s something rotten with all of this and I can’t help thinking that Netanyahu is an evil puppet master running loosely with world political leaders, influencing policy with powerful and very rich lobbyists who always see the world through Zionist eyes.
Sadly, I know even with my intent to see an end to all this madness, that I now join the long list of people that are considered “anti-Semitic” because I don’t agree with the state of Israel and their religious ideologies. It sucks to be an atheist…
I am neither pro-Palestinian or pro-Zionist. I consider myself a humanist. And, as such, it is my duty to ask questions and to understand the entire scope of this conflict. To side with one group over another would show a great disservice to humankind and we must all find that place within, regardless of your race or background, that shows tolerance and understanding in the face of our mounting ignorance.
