Difference Between Negative space and White space in Design.
Is Negative space and White space two different Concepts in design ?
Why i chose this topic is because most people think of it as if they both are same and thats why.
To Understand these two concepts we have to first really understand what each means.
In art, is the space around and between the subject(s) of an image. Negative space may be most evident when the space around a subject, not the subject itself, forms an interesting or artistically relevant shape, and such space occasionally is used to artistic effect as the “real” subject of an image.
So in simplest terms Negative space creates some subject, meaning or form when two or more objects interact to each other example take the Fedex logo or even take a look at the WWF logo panda.Negative space has always something to do with inner space between objects.
is the space on the sheet of paper or digital page where you put your content to design whereas white space does not try to communicate or provide any meaning whereas it tries give breathing space for your design elements and gives your eyes a better navigation to read better.
White spaces should be used every where and giving the right amount of white space based on the size of the document. White Space gives good readability and easy understanding and navigating.Cluttering in design should be avoided at all cost.
