Well bear in mind that if it had been up to the miners alone they would have opted for hard fork block increase immediately and if had been up to dev alone they would have opted for straight segwit. The matter was settled when dev (Luke alone or all dev?) promised the hard fork block increase in Nov. For that reason I would say that BCC is not just another alt as it also represents the the users who were not involved in the NY agreement and hence formed the #UAHF movement and BCC. Nothing may happen as you say but the futures are already trading high and the press is eating it up so something could kick off. Either way I wouldn’t call it “just another alt” unless you agree and think users should have no vote or say in the future of Bitcoin.
