Carson is correct. Comfort breeds complacency. If a person is homeless, they will seek the path of least resistance to get shelter, once in shelter, absent any motivation to seek personal responsibility for the shelter, the individual will entrench and seek to remain in their sheltered existence. Motivations for advancement are required to prevent complacency with the status quo.

As for Carson’s inexperience, I must ask, what were Trumps qualifications to be POTUS? What were Obama’s? The fact is that until they have done the job for a while, NO ONE is qualified for a new job position…including Presidents…of both parties.
