Unity we stand

I’ve tried dabbling in programming for nearly 30 years. In between playing Renegade, Horace Goes Skiing, or the countless other games on my Spectrum 48k when I was a few years’ old, even through to co-developing an adventure game in Flash for my final year project in university, I’ve tried. And tried. And failed. Every. Single. Time.

I’m not even entirely sure why either. For the last few years I’ve put it down to not having the right sort of brain to get to grips with programming. About 12 years ago, I got as far as the use of arrays in ActionScript and my head just couldn’t get around it, no matter how many times I read and re-read about them (this was before YouTube). That anecdote has become my go-to excuse ever since…

… Until now.

Today, I’ve downloaded Unity with a view to learn how to programme. I’ll be making my way through the various tutorials and seeing how far I get this time.

Wish me luck.

Oh, and incidentally, the university project was completed ahead of schedule. Phew.
