I wouldn’t call VR realistic. Instead, it is immersive. The goal is to create the most interactive world possible, not a mere copy of the reality. If that’s the case, why settle for copying an existing world using VR?
Too much realistic detail kills the human imagination and makes us focus on what’s in front of us. The beauty of creative technology should aim towards fueling the imagination, not subsiding it.
The goal is not to create what’s real. The goal is to create a different and immersive world.
