Polling and Labour’s prospects
Owen Jones

Owen, I completely agree with you but why don’t you mention the possibility of a progressive alliance as promoted by Caroline Lucas and Jonathan Bartley of the Green Party? Polling is not Labour’s only problem — the loss of Scotland to the SNP and the redrawing of constituency boundaries make a Labour victory highly unlikely for years to come. Grassroots campaigning will be important, yes, but surely the most realistic prospect we have for a progressive government is a progressive alliance — Labour, the Greens, the Lib Dems, the SNP and Plaid Cymru — working together against the might of the Tories and the Murdoch empire?
