exum not playing makes sense, considering that he missed his entire NBA sophomore season because of an injury sustained during international team play. simmons was just selected first overall and the Sixers were “resting” him in summer league, so I doubt they want him risking injury in the Olympics. in 2020 (or sooner in FIBA play) Australia could realistically field a team of Exum, Simmons, Delly, Mills (if he isn’t too old) and Thon Maker, once the young guys have established themselves in the league and notched a few healthy seasons.

im more excited about Canada’s potential team in the upcoming years, with Andrew Wiggins, Trey Lyles, Tristan Thompson, Cory Joseph, Jamal Murray, Kelly Olynyk, etc.
