The rap mogul Sean Combs, also known as P Diddy, Puff Daddy or Diddy, has been facing a series of allegations from his former partner and singer-songwriter Cassie, who filed a lawsuit against him on November 17, 2023. Cassie claims that Combs subjected her to over 15 years of physical, sexual and mental abuse, including coercing her into taking drugs, forcing her to have sex with male prostitutes, and hitting her on numerous occasions. She also accuses him of raping her in 2019, after they had broken up. Combs denies all the allegations and says he will fight them in court.
But Cassie is not the only one who has spoken out against Combs. In recent years, several other celebrities have hinted at or revealed disturbing experiences with the rap star, who is known for his lavish parties and influential role in the music industry. Some of them are Usher and Justin Bieber, two of the most successful pop artists of the 21st century, who both have a history with Combs.
Usher was discovered by Combs when he was only 14 years old, and signed to his record label Bad Boy Entertainment. Combs became his mentor and introduced him to the world of fame and fortune, but also to the dark side of the industry. In a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Usher confessed that Combs exposed him to drugs and sex parties when he was still a teenager. He said he felt “pressured” to participate in things that he was not ready for, and that he regretted some of his choices. He also said that Combs was not a good role model for him, and that he had to distance himself from him to find his own identity.
Justin Bieber had a similar encounter with Combs when he was 15 years old. In 2009, Bieber was discovered by Usher on YouTube, and became his protégé. Usher introduced him to Combs, who invited him to his parties and gave him expensive gifts, such as a Lamborghini. But according to Bieber’s mother Pattie Mallette, Combs also tried to corrupt her son with drugs and alcohol. In a 2023 YouTube video titled “Justin Bieber’s Mom Speaks out: Usher & Diddy’s Impact on His Life Exposed”, Mallette claims that Combs offered Bieber cocaine and marijuana at his parties, and encouraged him to drink champagne. She says she was horrified by what she saw, and that she had to intervene to protect her son from Combs’ influence.
Both Usher and Bieber have since moved on from their relationships with Combs, and have achieved tremendous success in their careers. But they have also faced challenges and struggles along the way, such as addiction, depression and legal issues. Some of these may be linked to their early exposure to Combs’ lifestyle and behavior.
So far, neither Usher nor Bieber have commented on Cassie’s lawsuit against Combs, or confirmed any allegations of abuse by him. But some fans and media outlets are wondering if they will ever speak up and expose Combs for what he allegedly did to them. Some are even calling for them to join forces with Cassie and sue Combs together.
