Wow. What you’ve blown this thing wide open. As usual, this thing is 10,000X bigger than what it looks like on the surface. And if we want to do it right, we have to look much deeper and broader.
We have to look at the long lineage of SOCI — and to do that well, we have to tease apart context, systems architecture and the traverse from old to new culture. We have to look at the actual content of postmodernism (not its image as projected by left, right or otherwise) and consider it both in the history of the War on Sensemaking and in the larger story of SOCI. For that matter we have to consider the War on Sensemaking in its particulars.
We have to look at the snapshot that I’ve captured — of SOCI in an environment of hyptrophied imagination and SOCI emerging into an environment of hypertrophied memory and then place that which belongs in the past but is showing up now, that which is intense in the present and that which is “resonant with” the future.
Yowza. Thanks for your contributions! Good stuff.
