I’ve always assumed/understood that there is no “field of climate change science.”

Right. How can it be “proof” if very few, or possibly none, have the expertise to put all the pieces together and draw/defend a conclusion? Re-read Spencer’s quote and ask yourself: If this is the case, why are we being told we’re headed toward catastrophe with such certainty?

Ultimately, there is someone — a group of people, actually — who take on the job of speaking for the climate science “field”: the politicians and acitvists who issue the reports. That’s why you won’t find the word “science” in the IPCC acronym, but you will find the word “government.” Ask yourself: Is that congruent with the claim GW orthodoxy is indisputable science put forth by a scientific consensus beyond questioning?
