No Truck But Get Ready For Indiegogo — 2/13/17
So, I probably don’t need to say this because you could’ve already guessed, the grant money did not come through and I did not buy the truck last week. I don’t know what to say besides, totally saw that one coming. It obviously sucks and I’m pretty disappointed it couldn’t happen but I’ve come to not expect a lot. And for that reason, after talking with a few different mentors last week, I’m 95% sure I want to part ways with Zero Six Eight. I was able to speak with my partner a little bit last week and he completely understands why I’ve come to that decision. He is truly an amazing human being and it sucks that this was not able to work out. He also realizes they’ve fucked up so it should be a very clean, easy break if I fully decide I want to do it. We will part on good terms and they will still be a huge supporter of Revival Chili.
It’s a hard decision to make but I think it’s for the best. They’ve pretty much been stringing me along for the past five months and that’s caused a lot of drama for the business. I’ve made certain promises and haven’t been able to fulfill them which I absolutely hate. And it’s going to keep happening because I have no idea when the truck will be up and running now. The exciting thing is that we are definitely going to run our campaign on Indiegogo and see how much money we can raise. There’s a lot of potential here and I absolutely can not wait to see how it goes. I have extremely high hopes for the campaign and I’m probably going to be let down but who gives a fuck. I’m riding this out to the end and if it doesn’t work then it doesn’t work, time to move on to the next thing.
Anyways, I sent out the first email last Wednesday to start getting the people interested in the campaign. Received a lot of excitement and good feedback. The main problem is my email list is only like 200 people. It needs to be a lot bigger but not quite sure how to make that happen in the next week and a half. Luckily, I’m on a couple other email lists and will be sending out the info to all of them in the next couple of weeks.
Other than that nothing has really happened. We did have our farmers market on Saturday and it was alright. The weather was amazing and there were a lot of people there but I didn’t do as well as I’d hoped. Have a few more things lined up for the rest of this month so we will see how they go. That’s it for now, hope everyone has a good Monday and rest of the week!
