Dan fully completed both Steem and Bitshares. He left because that’s the point of a decentralized application that has its own big community and ability to mantain itself.
Several copies of BitShares(a decentralized exchange) are now running on top of EOS, and Dan is now building a better version of Steem for EOS.
EOS is already running the biggest decentralized casino(EOSbet) and that dapp alone is processing more transactions than the entire bitcoin network, and it’s running 21 times more decentralized than any other online casino, with full blockchain transparency. And people actually use it because they don’t have to deal with fees and the dapp is friction-less, low-latency, truly innovative(it’s probably fair in a trustless way) and therefore appealing.
That’s all that matters to dapp developers that are trying to attract a big userbase to their decentralized innovations.
